Why does Cinderella not play football? Because she keeps running away from the ball - just like the Town players today!!
I have never witnessed such a dire display as I did today. The referee killed the game this afternoon by sending off Baitup and Manton but the players should ask themselves how they could conceed 9 goals regardless of how many players were on the pitch. I may be able to answer that - get a new left back!!! Without Tanner in goal I dread to think how many more would have gone in the net. I will continue to support the Yellow Army because that is what a fan does - cheer the team on in good times and bad. I will be at the Saffrons on Tuesday evening and hope the players put on a better show, if not for themselves, then for the manager and the fans.

i have just returned from work and although i got text updates from people at the game i just could not believe what i was reading 9-0 ,did we not turn up ? i would be interested to read what other people thought of the game that where there ?Surely the attendence of 86 was not right for a bank holiday fixture , that is poor .Mind you when you concede 9 goals against a team that finished 3rd in the county league last season ,what can i say , the words back to the drawing board spring to mind, i expect a much improved display and commitment from the side on tuesday night ,its time for the team to show they still want to play in the ryman league and not go back to county league level .Over to you lads the balls in your court now .

After setting off in good spirits to watch the town it soon turned into a nightmare. Now we all know town on there day can beat anyone but todays performance was the worst i have seen
We all have bad days at what ever we do in life but at least we can try to do our best and from some off the side it didnt seem to matter enough.Apart from tanner rico goodwin and mcdonald it could and would of been a lot worse tanner as normal making some excellent saves The match started with horsham having a host of chances and good goalkeeping and poor finishing from yms forwards kept town in the match. the pressure finally told with horsham going one up then with twentey mins gone liam handled the ball on the goaline and recived a red card although according to a few home supporters the ball had already crossed the line.after the sending off town had there best spell wih goodwins pace causing problems as town reached half time one nil down The second half started and horsham went two up within minutes then manton who had been booked in the first half went in strongly but im my opinion fairly in a full bloodied challenge and recived a 2nd yellow card and was sent off leaving town down to nine men, from there on a very sticky pitch it was one way traffic as the goals flowed from horsham.if it wasnt for tanner it would of been at least 12 goals, and if a defender is going to dive in and go to ground the least he can do is pick himself up and not just watch a horsham player bearing down on goal. Now its easy to moan about the players but the one thing they can all do is run and not give up.Finally the referee was poor first half two town players were booked but then horsham players commiting same fouls just given a talking to one horsham player fouled a town player yellow for the foul then kicked the ball away and only gets a yellow. second half poor decision to send manton off the n on a very rare attack by town 2nd half goodwin is bundled in the back from behind in the penalty area ref raises whistle to mouth horsham player shouts at him and he waves play on !!!!. Callum holles told if he carrys on talking to ref he wud also be sent off imo the ref was not the same for both sides. anyway on to tuesday night against burgess hill lets hope for some fight from the players and please dont give up keep the faith Up the town

EASTBOURNE Town manager Ady Colwell has left the club after the 9-0 Boxing Day thrashing at Horsham YMCA.
But chairman Rupert Imich paid a warm tribute to the departing boss, who led the club to the Sussex County League title and promotion to the Ryman League in 2007.
“He will never be forgotten as he has achieved an awful lot," Imich said. “I was at Saturday's game and I will never be able to explain to any football supporter how we lost it 9-0. It just does make any sense at all.
“We have to accept our position in football at this club. I am not saying we are punching above our weight but in terms of budget we are in the bottom five of that league.
“Ady will do a great service for another club and will have learned an awful lot from his time at Eastbourne Town. Given a budget he has an immense talent.
“One thing I have learned about Ady is his decency and honesty in a sport which is often not filled with decency and honesty.”
Colwell said, "The scoreline is such that any manager in the world would offer their resignation. It’s not about me and my ego, which is severely dented, it is about the club. “The bigger picture is about the club and that is the important thing. It’s very embarrassing for the club, the chairman and everyone behind the scenes who work so hard and someone has to take responsibility for it and that will be me.
“I could easily lay the blame at the players’ door, which of course is contributory, but I put things together so I have to take it on the chin.”

I suppose that it is no surprise to see Danny Bloor appointed as manager (if it is official) He has a good track record, and I think has been on the shelf since the parting of the ways between Worthing / Alan Pook / himself
Quite a few people were disappointed that he wasn't given the job on his own at the time of Simon Colbran's appointment
