Possibly the best match of the season, beating the league leaders 1-0. Such a contrast with the last two home games, Town played high tempo, fully committed football that made Bognor seem anything like top of the league.
Danny Curd took his goal well, keeping his cool when being converged on by two defenders.
It could have all been quite different though, if Bognor had scored from one or more of their several clear chances. Town rode their luck and deserved to win. Steve Elliott was immense (as usual), while Kieron Thorp really must be one of the best goalkeepers in the league, if not the best.
Interesting to see Ashley Robinson playing for Bognor. They must be at least the fourth team he has played for since leaving Town last season, probably more. He had scoring chances but they were snuffed out by excellent defending.
Well done Town!

A tremendous performance by Town. There was not a weak link in the squad as it was obvious that the subs were up for it as well and couldn't wait to get into the action. It was a shame that young Max didn't get on but the time was never right for it and his time will come. If Town had only played like this at home more often this season they would be close to a play-off position. I thought we might have had a few words from Jontee after his "result being a foregone conclusion" post yesterday.

Quite right oap, and never was I more happy to be proved wrong ! I had hoped merely for a committed performance, but we got that and much, much more.
Danny Curd was on a mission, chasing everything down and took the goal excellently with a single mind.
Yes the question might be how are Bognor top of the league. And the answer would be that you play as well as you are allowed, and Town stopped Bognor from playing. Yes they did get chances, but so did Town and it was not a rearguard display.
Credit were it is due. Mr Bloor got his team selection and tactics spot on. Cram the midfield and close them down at every opportunity. I don't think I saw a Bognor player on a clear run even once. There always seemed to be an extra Town player when needed.
A fantastic display and well done to all. Agree about Keron Thorp. What a player Ross Trevellian is ! Wish we could keep him. But it was a team performance.
One word on the referee - awfull !

About Ashley Robinson, I checked it out and he has been at Bognor most of the season, played 26, scored 9, picked up 7 cards. I saw nothing on Tuesday to change my opinion of him. Very talented, but dead lazy. A luxury player if ever I saw one. Mr Bloor was right to give him a try and equally right to show him the door.
If Bognor miss out again this year they will look back on Tuesday night.
