Manager John Lambert is quoted in the local paper as saying that "Town were not up for it" against Walton &Hersham last Saturday in the most important game they have been involved in so far this season. He was only stating what all of the spectators there saw. It was made more disappointing because earlier in the week a makeshift Town team of some first teamers, reserves, and guests had given a spirited display against Peacehaven who were probably the best side to play at the Saffrons this season. Our visitors last Saturday wer e, with the exception of Crawley Down Gatwick, one of the poorest sides to come here. We can but hope that he can manage to inspire them tonight. If he cannot then the the sole interest left will be wondering if the derby match next Boxing Day will be at home or at Princes Park

TOWN LOST 4-0 This latest heavy defeat leaves Town 10 points adrift at the foot of the table with 16 games to go, so, unless a miracle happens, spectators will be watching County League football at the Saffrons next season. With 82 goals against so far there is a good chance that our final goals deficit will be an unwanted Ryman League record. Tonight's result begets two questions. (1)Will Town players be prepared to commit themselves to the club to play County League football? (2)Are they good enough to keep us in Div One never mind win promotion?

Having seen all home games and a fair few away this season goes from one disater to the next. From the appointment of laundon the club were on a downward spiral that they havent recovered from and now we are adrift at the bottom of the league with very little hope. Imo there are enough players with the talent and skill to of kept us mid table even with the managerial upheval the defence has not been right from day one as our goal tally suggests but the thing that really gets me is that some of the players are not giving there all for the club pulling out of challenges arguing between themselves and a general air that weare down so why should we try Well u may not get a huge crowd every game but the same fans turn up paying to watch loyally in the hope the team will turn it around or at least care enough to try . Lets hope the management team go for the players who reallu do care about the town for the remaining games because I would much rather support a team who may lose but fight for the club to the end wich unfortunately we dont have with some of the current players

Well I was there last night and for 43 mins we was in the game giving it our all for the club ,but as so often happens we misfired in front of goal when given chances by a strong casuals side .We conceded the goal shortly on half time and were not switched on and conceded a soft second right on the start of the second half .We had chances and kept trying but as so often has been the case when you are down the bottom your luck does not go for you and we conceded 2 more goals . However , im not of the ilk to lay down and roll over ,and neither hopefully will our team .Yes its been a very mixed season , however sometimes you have to take a step back and regroup ,take stock and go again ,id love us to stay in the Ryman league as iv very much enjoyed our visits to the clubs in it ,however at the end of the day you have to go with reality , results don't lie and nor do tables , we haven't had stability and we haven't had a settled squad to compete with .The season is not over yet ,and until we are dead and buried I will ktf to the very end and believe in my team no matter what.

Imagen The Unstoppable - Jamie Byatt Corinthian-Casuals 4 v 0 Eastbourne Town Match Sponsor: Man of the Match: Jamie Byatt Teams: See below
3 wins in succession. 11 goals scored. 6 goals by the wee number 9. A few Casuals fans making the noise of loads. Finally, the Casuals are making lots of noises and numbers. The Number 9 by the way is Jamie Byatt and there’s only one of him.
It was always going to be a positive Tuesday night. Already playing with spirit and purpose, encouraged with the 3-2 away win on Saturday and the culling of the Swans prior to that a week long ago even top of the table would have a game on their hands against us. It's just we played bottom of the league and came out 4-0 winners.
Up until last week really Corinthian-Casuals and Eastbourne were looking doomed at the foot of the table on 20 points. Now the Chocolate and pink leave them stranded with nothing to hang on as we close the gap on almost the whole bottom half of the table, many now taking note of Corinthian Spirit – a play to the end, right to the very end, until the last breath type spirit.
The game started out even enough, Both teams probed and attacked each other but couldn't find the net. Juevan Spencer came close midway through the half when his deflected shot hit the post whilst Goddard, Byatt and the rejuvenated Wilson-Joseph saw shots either go over, go wide or be saved. Recently, Casuals have shown that they power the opposition to submission when they least expect it. On this occasion and on 43 minutes Steve Goddard drove past an Eastbourne defender in the penalty box and nudged the ball beyond the keeper to put the Chocolate and Pink 1-0 up bagging his second goal in just a handful of matches. For the second match running Corinth went into the break leading the score line.
The second half was when most of the action was enjoyed. Just one minute after the restart Wilson-Joseph launched a right footed corner from the left channel. Joe Hicks managed to outjump everyone in the penalty area to header towards goal but it was blocked poorly by a defender. Byatt saw the loose ball and without hesitation blasted into the net from only a few yards out. His screamer of a shot 20 minutes later however sent the fans behind the Tolworth Tower end dancing and cheering with delight as he picked up the ball on the outside of the box and as a rocket blasted his effort well beyond the helpless Eastbourne keeper. 3-0.
On 66 minutes manager Matt Howard made his first change of the night by replacing winger Juevan Spencer with ex Harrow Borough attacker Daniel Llacer. Making an immediate impact he marvelously shimmied down the left channel on one occasion, he got beyond his marker and zoomed towards goal only for his legs to be swiped and the referee to award a Casuals corner. A minute later, on 77 minutes, Jamie Byatt confidently converted giving the keeper no chance.
The olé's came from the crowd and the Casuals overwhelmed their opposition to submission. Numerous attempts on goal were squandered and it could be argued that the final score flattered our visitors – it could have been more. The players were no doubt encouraged by the magnificent home support again where some say this was the loudest heard from our faithul fans for a long, long time.
THE ABOVE REPORT IS FROM CORINTHIAN CASUALS.
