The Town players showed the new management team headed by John Lambert, watching in the crowd, that there is still hope for the future. They battled their way to a point in a game that neither side deserved to lose. Town opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Aaron Watson beat the ridiculous off-side rule with some very quick thinking by stepping over a goal bound shot from Billy Medlock. Brannon O'Neill equalised for Worthing before Dawes put Worthing in front during what is often Towns most vulnerable time -approaching half time. Shortly after the restart Ross Sutton scored one of his very rare goals when he was unmarked in the area from a corner to power a header into the roof of the net. Worthing were fielding 7 new players and will obviously become a strong unit. Hall,Lansdale and Mensah were missing due to injuries and suspensions.
