Town showed that they are not accepting relegation without a fight with a tremendous gutsy performance against their promotion hopeful opponents on a night perfect for football. Guernsey cut through the Town defence almost at will in the first half to score three times with just a Billy Medlock goal in reply. The second half brought about a complete transformation. Medlock completed his hat-trick as Town were rarely pushed back over the halfway line. A rare visitors attack saw leading goal scorer Allen threaten to win the game with a fierce shot to the corner of the goal . Broadbent proved what a wonderful find he is by diving to his left to push the ball round the post and then cleanly catch the resultant corner when under pressure. With Chipstead and Three Bridges both losing and Corinthian Casuals not playing we are off the bottom at last. If we can pick up points at Redhill Saturday then the fixture with Horsham the week after should be a humdinger.

Good summary, oap. This was one of the best matches I've seen at the Saffrons this season and Town deserve a lot of credit for the way they turned around a 3-1 half-time deficit. James Broadbent's save at the very end of the game that salvaged a point for Town was superb. Pity that the gate (117) was not higher.

Excellent summary of the match on Town's official website. Very literary too, what with John-Paul Sartre being quoted!
