A successful cup day for the club (The Reserves won 5-0 in the Sx Intermediate Cup) the first team won 3-2 in probably the most entertaining game seen on the Saffrons since the fixture with Dulwich Hamlet last season. Town could have been 2-0 up before they scored their first and controlled the opening 30 minutes until sloppy defending from a free kick gave the visitors the equaliser and the confidence to come back into the game. The second half was a typical cup-tie with both sides having their chances. Town had a penalty well saved and a thunderous header hit the crossbar before they scored twice to make the result appear safe but Tunbridge Wells scored near the end to give cause for concern. There was hardly a foul in the entire 90 minutes and it was pleasant to watch a game where both sets of players managed to play without the effing and blinding that has blighted so many of the matches in the past.
