I read in todays local paper that we have signed some new players. Surely this could be considered newsworthy enough to our supporters to go on the club website or is the Eastbourne Herald suddenly our "New Best Friend"? After watching the last couple of home games it is very obvious that we need several new players and with such a poor home gate last week we need to tell missing supporters that there is still some life left in the club. Or is it a case of the club preparing for a return to the County League?

These are difficult times but I think it is a little premature to talk about a return to the County League just yet, or as has been said, being cut adrift before Christmas.
We don't know yet who the new manager will be for a start. Also it is clear that Ady will be able to attract new players as has been shown already.
If the worst does happen, it is a shame that it is the County League that awaits us, with such a gulf in standard. For a long time have I considered that the County League should feed the Combined Counties League, which, with the Kent League should then feed the Ryman. But we are as yet a way from worrying about that.
As for Mr Laundon, what can we say. Clearly a disastrous appointment. And what about the holiday which preceded his departure ? A teacher can only take holidays at certainn times of the year he tells us. Well, Mr Laundon, I would say a football manager can only take holidays at certain times, and the football season isn't one of them. We are led to believe the committee knew about the holiday. Well in that case, why did they appoint him ? It reminds me of the Irish restuarant which closed for lunch.

It appears that Sammy Donnelly has joined the management team. Let us hope he can attract some new players in time for Saturdays game with Tunbridge Wells. Not an easy thing to ask.
