Thought it would be worth bringing all this information under one thread rather than it spreading to several.
Players out - Matt Crabb, Ben Austin, Dan Smith (all of whom have gone to Lewes). No definite news on others as yet, although the Herald this morning says that most of last season's squad have gone.
Players in - no news yet. Kevin Laundon is quoted in the Herald as saying that there will be information on this on 1st July. Also mentions that he is hoping to retain four or five of last season's squad.
Sorry but not surprised that Ben Austin has gone to Lewes.

No real surprise if virtually the whole squad has departed. As I have said on other threads, players tend to swarm and often sign for the manager rather than the club.
It will be a very difficult season and retaining Ryman league status will be a major achievement.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see some of Ady Colwell's team of a few seasons back return to the club. Particularly as a number of them are at Eastbourne United where there has also been a change of management.

We must go into the season by having an open mind regarding the new management team but let us hope they bring in some talent better than our ex-players. If we can only attract players that were unable to gain promotion from the lower reaches of the county league it will be a long hard winter.

I understand what Jontee says about players "swarming" and signing for a manager rather than a club but I can't see how this will apply with players leaving Town this summer. The logic would be for them to follow Danny Bloor and Garry Wilson but, as they are a division above Town, I doubt that Lewes will be looking to sign any more players from a team that finished mid-table in a lower league.
I agree with oap about going into the new season with an open mind. The two new managers will have different ideas and different contacts from their predecessors and it is possible that this will lead to a successful season. Pre-season is always, as far as I am concerned, a time for optimism, not pessimism. At the very least, it is going to be interesting!

I agree DB and GW will only sign players good enough for Ryman Premier, but that won't stop players leaving Town if they can't see their way to working with the new management.
The new Lewes management team will only 'cherry pick' players whether from Town or elsewhere. That's what I was thinking Ady Colwell might do, given the number of his old Town team at United. The likes of Liam Baitup and Peter Cooper did very well in the Ryman and could do so again.

My message is don't panic !!! ,This was always going to happen when Mr Bloor decided to change ,and players naturally want to follow somebody they know ,however some players love this club and the way it is run ,very rare nowadays but they do exist follow the link to our website for more news www.etfc.biz .

I assume that the assistant coach Chris Dicker is the former Town player who always gave 100%, but can we be told the footballing backgrounds of new head coach Ryan Light and assistant Mark Lynch? Also, has the management decided what is happening to the reserve and youth team set-ups?

Im sure it is Oap , but will confirm as soon as I know for sure ,Not to sure about Mark Lynch , but I do know Ryan Light was manager at Rye and assistant at Hastings ,and also was at Eastbourne utd last season im sure !! Regarding the reserves and youth set up , the Reserves will run as normal , however with the bias slightly on the younger players and we will be running the Ryman youth as per normal , with the County setup reverting back under the wings of Eastbourne Town youth ,Ladies will also be as normal next season .

I never thought, for one second, that our ladies would be anything but normal.

I am delighted to see that Steve Elliott has been appointed club captain for the season. Firstly as he is staying at Town, as there were rumours that he was off to Lewes. He is exactly the type of player Town needs, committed and whole-hearted. Second as he is a motivator and a team that is likely to have quite a number of changes of personnel will need that. Well done Steve!

We have seen how Danny likes bringing in new players all the time. I wonder where some of our ex-players will go when they realise they are not considered good enough for a higher league than they were playing in last season? Let us hope that more of the better players from last season follow Steve Elliotts example and stay.

For those of you who don't have access to the Herald, the following was reported this morning. Town have signed:
- Liam Baitup and Peter Featherstone from Eastbourne Utd - Greg Nessling - George Jones (midfielder) - Billy Medlock - Dan Pollard (centre half) from Ringmer
Town players from last season to sign again include:
- Luke Denton - Adam Davidson - Dan Rogers - Ross Sutton
Apparently, Ben Billings has "committed his immediate future to the club".
