According to ETFC's website and Twitter, Danny Bloor has left to become assistant manager at Lewes, with Gary Wilson having been appointed Lewes manager. Seems too, reading the Lewes unofficial forum, that Matt Crabb has joined them in some capacity too.
Going to be interesting to see who replaces Danny.
(At least Jontee will be happy!)

Yes Grimrich, I am happy to hear this news. It marks the end of a very sterile period for the club.
You notice though that Lewes have at least got this the right way round, ie. Wilson is the manager, Bloor is the assistant. My only regret is that Town did not grasp the nettle and take the bold, but obvious step of appointing Wilson as their manager. There is no loyalty in football, and no-one could have guaranteed he would not have gone to Lewes, but at least it would have been the best shot. He was never going to stay as a number 2.
It will be very interesting to see who DB's successor is.

Jontee, I can't help thinking that your dislike of Danny Bloor's management of Town has clouded your judgement. For Town to have appointed Garry Wilson as manager over Danny Bloor ignores the fact that Danny had not in any way failed.
When I started supporting Town some three seasons ago, they had just finished in the relegation zone but were reprieved. What we have seen since is a steady improvement in results and league position. There have been frustrating runs of poor results but the league position this season speaks for itself.
In my opinion, whoever is appointed manager will have quite a job to improve on Town's league position.

Grimrich, firstly, I do not judge, but merely state an opinion. As I said, there is no loyalty in football as these events have shown. Neither of the management team showed any loyalty to Town, so therefore why should Town not have appointed Mr Wilson as manager, as the best means of keeping him ? By doing nothing they have lost both manager and assistant.
As important as the league position is the style of play and the style of management. Everyone lost count of the number of players Mr Bloor used. They often looked disinterested and non motivated. Not the mark of a good manager.
I agree a higher league position would be unlikely and the club could obviously not afford promotion anyway. Thus they need to concentrate on style and entertainment and I hope the committe will keep that in mind when appointing the new manager.

I also meant to point out that the bottom of the table positionwas achieved by Mr Bloor in his first half season. When he took over he said he had inherited a good side, but then immediately dismantled it and brought in a succession of poor players, mainly signed on reputation. Anyone remember Zubar was it ? The so called Nigerian international who had probably never kicked a ball in his life.

Jontee, I agree that there were far too many players used last season, as it is difficult to build a cohesive team when there is a revolving door. I am reminded of the great Liverpool team of around 30 years ago that won the league using just 13 or 14 players.
Style and entertainment? Important yes, but, to quote the cliche, football is a results game. Teams like Wigan (and such as West Ham in the past) have been full of style and entertainment but have been relegated.
On the question of style of management, my main criticism of Danny was his constant harassment of referee and assistants, confusing this, I think, with doing his best for the team. I would prefer the new manager to concentrate more on his team during play and less on the officials.

Whoever takes over will have several problems. They will have to attempt to hold onto last seasons team, attract new players, and be able to find the budget to keep them. Danny Bloor may have upset a few supporters but he had one helluva little black book and seem to find the money for them himself. I agree that he probably used too many different players and that he had a couple of amusing failures along the way but it was always interesting wondering who would be turning out in the next game. There are very few in the reserves that look likely to hold down a Ryman league place and none of our ex-members have set the county league alight. The former Lewes manager has taken over at Crawley Down Gatwick so he may have enough money to take some of the Lewes side with him. I am surprised that there has not been a sensible wish list of managers that our supporters would like to see in charge.

Agree completely oap with your wise words ,Jontee its no good crying over spilt milk , Danny and Garry have left now , time to move on .Lets all get behind the new manager whoever it may be and support him as best we can , its never easy taking over a new team ,theres a lot of work to be done between now and the start of the season , as for managers I just hope the man chosen is the best available for the job .
