An excellent game that deserved more spectators.
Town dominated the first half, hitting the woodwork twice, having shots saved by a good Uckfield keeper and missing a penalty but scoring twice. They went in at half time looking like a team who would coast to an easy win.
The second half was quite different. Uckfield came out strongly and took control, so it was no surprise when they levelled the score at 2-2. Town held out though, and scored the winning third goal a couple of minutes from the final whistle.
I don't think that I was alone in being glad to see that final goal go in, thus avoiding an extra thirty minutes extra time, as it was getting distinctly cold by that time.
Final thought: unless you travel to watch the first team when they are away, why not support the reserve team at their home games - you'll rarely be disappointed.

Maybe if somebody could be bothered to put a report in the local paper of their games it would generate interest. Two weeks ago they won an enthralling Sussex Intermediate cup-tie, ,helped by one of the best freekicks seen on the Saffrons this season, and the result hasn't even made it onto the web-site.

The game last Saturday (1/12/12) was a County League Reserve section cup-tie. In the next round our Reserves will be away to either Rye Utd or Newhaven who are playing on 15th December.
