Another entertaining game at the Saffrons. I thought Town played very well and were unlucky not to win. They would have won of course if the ref had given the penalty in the first half instead of a free kick just outside. How often you see this. Nathan stayed down after the tackle to demonstrate it was inside.
What happenned for the first goal ? I thought the ref had stopped play for an infringement and the ball crossed the line from play after that, so not sure how he could give a goal. Certainly a lot of protest from the Town players. I was up the other end. Can anyone shed the light ?
Again, a crop of officials who do not know the current offside rule.
I thought Sam Crabb had a fine game, intelligently swapping wings and causing their defence a few problems.

Like Jontee, I would like to know what Worthing's first goal was all about. I was at the wrong end to see it but, during the second half, I asked people who had been near the incident what had happened and they didn't know. Credit to Town for fighting back twice from being a goal down.

I too was a bit confused as to why the ref awarded a goal when he had clearly blown his whistle before the ball crossed the line but having spoken to several people at the game it seems the ref did indeed blow his whistle to stop the game as he was going to award a penalty but when the ball crossed the line he changed his mind and awarded the goal instead! Unless the rules of the game have changed i thought when the whistle is blown that stops the game and play restarts. if he blew to award a penalty then Worthing should have taken the penalty. they may well have scored but equally they may have missed or thorpy may have saved it. Just because the ref was going to award a penalty should not mean that he awards a goal instead when he clearly blew his whistle and play had stopped. When oh when are Town going to get a ref that actually knows what he is doing!!
But nothing should be taken away from Towns performance. A thoroughly well deserved point and one of the best displays I have watched.

i to didnt understand why the worthing goal was given , but going on bourne agains explanation above regarding the pen or not a pen , if the ref had given the pen, surely he would have had to send off the offender ? , town down to 10 men and up against it,or town a goal down with 11 on the pitch and a chance toget back in the game ? i know what id prefer lol , all in all a good game and a battling performance , well done lads keep it up .

Agree Yellow Peril, perhaps we should be grateful for small mercies. I know it's an instinctive reaction, but you are better off letting the ball go in than keeping it out with your hand, which of course is what the rules are designed for.
What does everyone think about the pen we didn't get. I was sure it was inside the area.

Difficult to say about the penalty. Nathan certainly landed in the box but whether he was fouled inside or outside I couldn't tell at the time.

I was in as good a position as anybody to see the "penalty"and in my opinion the referee was correct to give a free kick on the edge of the area. He could have taken the wall back a couple of paces more though. Is anybody from the club the club going to tell us who Graves is and where he came from. I realise that we do not bother with PR at this club but as we have to(rather poor) websites we could be given some information on one of them.

Nathan was moving away from the goal when fouled, so landing in the box, he must have been fouled inside. Bad decision.
Agree about the wall distance. Do we ever get a referee who will enforce that. And have you seen the length of the paces ? They must have changed what a yard is since I was at school !
