Less than a week before the Ressies play the Sports Ressies at Priory Lane and no comment yet. Is there a lack of interest or is it not considered a big game Could Norwood be in the side to face Town - could it be payback time for his reported facebook comments Will Town field a strong side

So many questions so few to discuss them with ;D ;D ;D

Are we sure that the match is at Priory Lane? Certainly the first team are away, but the County FA appear to be waiting for confirmation of venue

I don't think that James could be playing for Borough - as a loanee, he must be regarded as a first team player - and the Intermediate Cup has strong rules about which senior players may or may not appear in the competition

Town have a strong record of competitiveness in this competition over the last few years, so I have no doubt that they will field the strongest side possible

Once again, I have the dilemma of whether to follow the ressies, or go to the Saffrons - 2 good matches appear to be in prospect

Town are now away to the winners of Three Bridges reserves v East Grinstead reserves (due to be played next Saturday) in the quarter final

well done the reserves for turning borough over 4-3 , pick of the goals came from cal leagate im told ,well done and we now look forward to next weeks encounter against the united at the saffrons in the league .

well done to both Town teams. With our first team and Boroughs first team having important League games this seems to have been a genuine reserves match Does this mean we have more strength in depth now than our Conference Neighbours ;D ;D

Don't hold your breath, how likely? Unlikely! You are right, many quality players in ressie's but well undervalued!

wow, are you both saying there are players playing in sussex county league reserve division football that are up to playing in the Ryman League and that are better than those representing the club so well.......and where have they come from?.......have they been here a while, coz if so, surely Ady could have done with them in the club's hour(s) of need.....and then Danny could have done with them when he arrived.......and do your comments mean that when the reserve team manager reports back to the club manager and chairman on a weekly basis that no action is taken or no interest shown for his enthusiasm, expertise or opinion?? Who undervalues them? I'd find that surprising......surely everyone wants the club to do well.....especially at first team level as this is, predominantly, what the club is judged on, initially.
I am interested in this area and value your comments but was of the opinion that only 2 of the 'quality' players you refer to have gone to play in a higher level than county reserve section and that was for seaford in county 2........
Please speak to the club management or the chairman if yoiu feel there are undiscovered gems playing in our reserves........they'd be pleased to know and it could free up space to bring through the best from the youth teams.......

I agree with come on you yellows. With Town having progressed one step up the pyramid the step up is even more magnified now between First team and reserves. As I said the Cup game with Borough was just a game between two genuine reserve sides. Sadly there are very few in either side that will make the step up despite how good you think they look in the reserves.

Crabbie and Brad were both playing with Town in the reserves a few seasons ago however all struggled to make the breakthrough. They went to Eastbourne Utd to get first team football in what turned out to be a very successful side. This helped to establish them both on the County scene and from that point they have been able to push on and establish themselves at Ryman level. Evan did the same thing although he went to Borough reserves, then Horsham, Worthing, Lewes to establish his reputation.

Look at young Ollie Rowes experience in the past 2 seasons. He has been a professional at Brighton but struggled to get into the first team. Released and signed by Borough and struggled to get a regular place in the first team. Loaned out to us and Lewes to get first team football. Then goes to Chelmsford to seek regular first team football and again struggles to become a regular and now Jason Hopkinson is trying to sign him for Hastings who could end up playing in the same league as us next season. And he is youngster that is highly rated.

There is one thing being highly rated when you play at a certain level but the reality is trying to stay highly rated when you step up a level is very difficult.
